Haggerstone Island is the only resort on the Great Barrier Reef to formally offer Kiteboarding as an activity. We welcome guests of all experience levels to enjoy our perfect location and consistent trade winds. All equiptment held on the island is by DUOTONE, please enquire to see what is currently stocked.
Kiteboarding is possible directly from the beach or Jetty on Haggerstone Island. The reef presents a perfect cross wind and reduced wave size for freestyle riding. As well as this we have many scenic and untouched locations to launch from, all in close proximity to the resort.
Kiteboarding can be done by anyone staying as a guest on the island, however for the best experiences and tailored shedule we would reccommend organising a group to book the entire island. This allows us to give full use of safety boats and staff at all times to manage your boarding and ensure the best time is had by all. Our trade winds blow from April to November, providing a wide area of time containing predictable winds of 15 to 30 knots.
